Girl It’s You
You got sloppy drunk at my cousin’s wedding
Then you went ahead, and you hit on the groom
Looking like a strip club model, chugging champagne from the bottle
And then you sucked the air out of the room.
I used to laugh and say you were spontaneous
Shrugged my shoulders, and say, oh, that’s just her
But anyone within a six-foot radius
Could see a train wreck walking through the door
I’ve consulted my Reverend and all of my friends
My bros, and my family, too
It’s a unanimous decision
It don’t take x-ray vision
To see that it ain’t me, girl, it’s you
I remember one time bringing you some flowers
And you said I must have bought them out of guilt
You swore that I was cheating
Yeah, you just had that feeling
And you stomped them roses and you went full tilt
I used to chalk it off as being passionate
Shrugged my shoulders, and say, oh, that’s just her
But anyone within a one-mile radius
Could hear you like a trucker scream and curse
I’ve consulted my Reverend and all of my friends
My bros, and my family, too
It’s a unanimous decision
It don’t take x-ray vision
To see that it ain’t me, girl, it’s you
Girl, it’s you, and it’s always been
The one who couldn’t stand my friends
And they were just trying to make me see
That the only problem that I had was your problem with me
I’ve consulted my Reverend and all of my friends
My bros and my family too
It’s a unanimous decision
It don’t take x-ray vision
To see that it’s me, girl, it ain’t me, girl, it’s you
Now we’re finally breaking up
Yes, I’m finally waking up
It’s over and done and we’re through
‘Cause I can see it ain’t me girl it’s you
