Worby & Friends

Country music with heart, purpose and a reason to listen.

For David Worby, songwriting has always been another way to tell stories that matter. With Worby & Friends, he brings those stories together in a collaborative country project featuring a distinctive group of artists, each lending their own voice to songs shaped by family, community, resilience, humor and hope.

The project marks the first time David has released a body of music under his own creative direction, bringing together years of songwriting, collaboration and a commitment to giving back.

“Hope” — Featuring The Bennett Hall Band

The story began with “Hope,” featuring The Bennett Hall Band, written by David Worby with Alyssa Trahan and Mark Narmore.

Heartfelt and uplifting, “Hope” reflects the spirit behind the larger project: finding encouragement and strength when life becomes difficult and remembering the importance of connection, perseverance and community.

It was a fitting introduction to Worby & Friends — and only the beginning.

“Living Large In A Small Town” — Breaking Eight

With “Living Large In A Small Town,” performed by Breaking Eight, the project takes a lighter turn.

Written by David Worby with Amanda Martin and Zac Wrixon, the song celebrates the personalities, humor and unwritten rules of small-town life — the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, material things matter a little less, and keeping anything quiet can be nearly impossible.

There’s plenty of fun in the storytelling, but underneath it is an affection for community and for the people who make a place feel like home.

“Hard Hats” — Matt Wynn

“Hard Hats,” performed by Matt Wynn, reveals a more reflective side of Worby & Friends.

Written by David Worby with Mark Narmore and Alyssa Trahan, the song follows an expectant father confronting the uncertainty that comes with becoming a parent. As the story unfolds, the idea of wearing many different “hard hats” becomes a metaphor for the roles a father takes on over a lifetime — protector, teacher, mentor, friend and steadfast supporter.

It’s a song about realizing that no one feels completely prepared for parenthood — and that showing up for every stage is what matters most.

One Project. Many Voices.

Together, the first three releases begin to reveal the range of Worby & Friends — moving from encouragement and hope to humor, family and the everyday experiences that connect people.

The complete project brings together six artists:

The Bennett Hall Band — “Hope”
Breaking Eight — “Living Large In A Small Town”
Matt Wynn — “Hard Hats”
Hunter Jordan — “What’s One More”
Ava Paige — “Your Love Goes On”
Alyssa Trahan — “Play You Again”

David serves as songwriter and co-executive producer alongside Michael August, with the project produced by Simon Reid and Suzanne Worby. The remaining music will follow ahead of the full EP release in October.

Music With a Purpose

For David, Worby & Friends is about more than releasing music.

After decades of advocacy on behalf of Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers and their families, he is carrying that same commitment to service into this project.

For each stream of music from Worby & Friends, David has pledged to personally donate $1, up to a total commitment of $100,000, divided equally between the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Both organizations support veterans, first responders and their families — communities closely connected to causes that have shaped much of David’s professional and philanthropic life.
