Country music with heart, purpose and a reason to listen.

For David Worby, songwriting has always been another way to tell stories that matter. With Worby & Friends, he steps forward for the first time with a musical project bearing his own name — bringing together a remarkable group of country artists to give voice to songs shaped by resilience, family, perseverance, community and hope.

The project begins with “Hope,” featuring The Bennett Hall Band, an intimate, heartfelt country track written by David Worby with Alyssa Trahan and Mark Narmore. The song sets the tone for the EP: honest storytelling, memorable voices and music meant to connect with people where they are. The independent music site We Write About Music praised the song for its sincerity and its themes of resilience and encouragement.

Worby & Friends brings together The Bennett Hall Band, Matt Wynn, Breaking Eight, Hunter Jordan, Ava Paige and Alyssa Trahan, each interpreting songs written by Worby and his collaborators. David serves as songwriter and co-executive producer with Michael August, with the project produced by Simon Reid. The full EP is scheduled for release in October.

But the music is also an extension of something that has defined David’s life far beyond songwriting: giving back. After decades of advocacy on behalf of Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers and their families, David is connecting this new project to causes that remain close to his heart. For every play of a song from Worby & Friends, he has committed to personally donate $1, up to a total of $100,000, divided equally between the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
